6 Quotes That Everyone Needs To Hear Right Now

Sometimes we can’t put our thoughts or feelings into words so we search for what we are trying to say in other people’s words. Words of encouragement, daily reminders or just beautifully crafted sentences can lift our spirits and help us get through the good times and the bad times. Words can be there for you when no one else can. If you’re in need of a little inspiration and motivation, here are a few of my favorites.

1. "I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." –Maya Angelou

I remember reading this quote on a poster in one of my high school classrooms and since then, it has stuck with me. It's always smart to keep in mind how your actions and words make other people feel, because in the end that is what they will remember you by. Moments where people feel extreme emotions, whether it be happiness or sadness, tend to stick with them for the rest of their life.

2. "With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose."-Wayne Dyer

This quote could not be more relevant for almost every life situation. People tend to get so down on themselves when things don't work out the way they thought they would. It's all about mind over matter. If you see something bad that happens to you as a learning experience instead of a bad thing, then you will grow from it. You have the power to choose how you let things affect you and although that is a huge responsibility, it can alter how you life your life

Trust is one of the hardest things to give people. If you are like me, being vulnerable is not a position you like to be in. Trusting that everything in your future will work out is not an easy thing to do because you are putting your trust into the unknown. Although it is hard, it can be extremely rewarding, as Steve Jobs has found it to be. If you take a chance and trust a little in the future, good things will come of it

Kindness is extremely important. The world can be so cruel and things can get you down, but being kind should be something that comes from within, no matter how mean other people can be. If you are able to be kind then you will attract only the right kind of people. If you are kind to other people then the world will be kind to you in return

5. "Relax. You will become an adult. You will figure out your career. You will find someone who loves you. You have a whole lifetime; time takes time. The only way to fail at life is to abstain."-Johanna de Silentio

This is the most comforting quote I have found in a long time. As a college kid, I've found that life can sometimes get hectic and it is easy to feel like you're losing your grip on your future. We tend to forget that we have so much time. Everything will work out in the end as long as we trust the process and enjoy the journey. Don't waste your time worrying about what will happen in the future, but instead live in the present. You'll regret it if you don't.

6. "Feelings are just visitors, let them come and go."-Mooji

Growing up can be tough and feelings tend to confuse people more often than not. It's so hard to navigate through what you're feeling, especially when you don't even really know what your feelings are. The best thing to do is to let the feelings come and go, and deal with them as so. It's difficult to do, but it will be worth it in the end to not worry too much about your feelings because they are always changing.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
