People are always buying cookbooks to find recipes to cook for their next meal. While this satisfies your hunger, there is much more left to be satisfied in your daily life. These are some recipes that don't involve food items, but use different ingredients to make recipes that feed the soul under different circumstances.
1. For rainy days
The best recipe for a rainy day calls for comfort and warmth. This includes: two cups of hot tea (honey optional); one good book (or more for the ambitious); one pair of sweatpants; one cozy blanket (ideally on top of a bed or comfy couch); and at least three hours napping time.
2. For stressful days
After a stressful day, the first thing you must do is remove your shoes as soon as you walk in the door at home. Next, you should pour one big glass of wine, draw one bath (bubbles optional but recommended) and have five or more of your favorite songs on repeat. Finally, one lit candle adds the perfect touch.
3. For days with perfect weather
When you wake up to a 70-degree and sunny Saturday, these are the steps you should follow: find one of more best friends; eat brunch or lunch outdoors; continue outdoor festivities with a couple of hours sitting on a porch or at a park with a cold drink. To take it up a notch, add an hour or two of playing outside with your favorite dog.
4. For homesickness
Homesickness affects even the best of us. The recipe for a homesickness remedy includes one cup of steaming hot tea, 12 or more of your favorite throwback songs on a playlist (on repeat), 50 or more old photos to look through, three hours of texting your high school best friend and the most important ingredient, one (or two) calls to Mom and/or Dad.
5. For heartbreak
If you ever get your heart broken, the fastest road to recovery includes one tub of ice cream, one weekend movie marathon (rom-coms or dramas preferred), one bottle of that wine you were saving for a special occasion (you deserve it now), and one or more friends/roommates who love you no matter how ugly you cry.
6. For going out
For Fridays, Saturdays and whatever other nights you hit the town you need: one house to meet up with all yours friends beforehand; one or more drinks (per person); one really awesome playlist; 40-plus pictures taken (selfies count); two or more Ubers to get you where you're going; and last but certainly not least one snack (pizza) for when you come home.
