Recently I've been talking with some friends about having a movie date and it inspired me to write about a few movies I think everyone needs to see. I'm a fan of a lot of movies so picking ten was really hard, but alas, here we go.

1. Pay It Forward

I remember watching this movie my senior year of high school. I know it's stupid to say that a movie changed you, but this one literally changed my life and the way I think about things. To this day, when I watch it I cry and think of ways I can change the world around me and make it a better place. If you were to watch any of the movies I'm about to list I would suggest this one the most. 10/10 would recommend.

2. The Game Plan

This family movie is one of the cutest movies I've ever seen. I love Dwayne Johnson's character's development. He grows as a person so much by the end of the movie. And let's be real, everyone loves The Rock.

3. Sleepover

I don't know about you, but for me Sleepover was literally sleepover goals. I wanted to go on rebellious scavenger hunts, meet the love of my life, and have the most romantic first date ever. Not to mention, Evan Peters was comedic gold in this film. You know, before he was terrifying in American Horror Story.

4. Deadpool

Deadpool is my spirit animal. He is literally the funniest "bad guy" ever. And the fact that Ryan Reynolds is the man behind the red suit makes it a million times better. I lowkey saw this twice in the theaters because I loved it so much. If you're in the mood to laugh and you can handle some crude humor this is the movie for you.

5. Lilo And Stitch

Any of the movies in this series are phenomenal, to be honest. You won't know whether you'll be crying from the cuteness or the heartbreak. Whenever I watch them I feel like a child again. If I'm upset I'll put one on and cry it out and feel better immediately.

6. Mean Girls

If you've never seen this classic I'm hardcore judging you. You have to see mean girls at least 500 times in your life, that's just like, the rules of feminism! Duh. This isn't your typical "chick flick". It's raunchy, funny, and very quoteable. I can promise you that even though this movie is 12 years old (which is so hard to believe, by the way) I still quote it on a weekly basis. Lindsay Lohan's character is so relatable and naive. Rachel McAdams is the girl everyone loves to hate. It's the perfect frenemy relationship. Also, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are in it. That in itself would be enough to make me see it.

Well, there you have it! My list of must see movies. You have your chick flicks, animation, and drama. There are so many other movies I could suggest, but I'll leave it with these six for now.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
