6 Must-See Christmas Movies

Have a holly jolly Christmas. It's the best time of the year.

Now that thanksgiving is over, it is time to start thinking about Christmas. We start putting up the trees and started shopping for gifts. My favorite thing about this time a year is getting to pull out all the movies that you don't typically watch any other time of the year. So, here are a few of my favorites.

1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Okay, let's be honest. This is everyone's favorite Christmas movie (except for the fact that Cindy Loo Hoo is now a Jennie from Brooklyn aka little J). But anyway, if were being honest with ourselves here then we all know why we love this movie so much. We are the Grinch inside really (minus hating Christmas) but I've been saying for years that he is my spirit animal and I'll fight you if you say that isn't true.

2. Home Alone

All of the home alone movies are great because it is another story showing how adults are stupid and that you shouldn't have more than two kids. Really though, who leaves a kid? Either way, we all love this movie because it is hilarious and it kind of made us want to take on New York by ourselves too.

3. Santa Clause

Yet another great Christmas movie series. This is definitely a good laugh for the holiday season even though the last one makes you want to scream at times. But Charlie growing up and acting out because his dad is santa gives me the feels every time.

4. Polar Express

All Aboard the Polar Express! Don't act like you didn't hope this train would be at your house after you saw this for the first time. I mean really any movie with Tom Hanks is great, but this movie is a child's dream from the hot chocolate to meeting santa.

5. Elf

This movie is great when you're in the holiday mood and you want a great laugh. There is nothing funnier than this movie around Christmas time and if you don't love this movie then you have a sad, sad life.

6. The Night Before

This is a great adult Christmas movie. It's super inappropriate, but it's so funny. It's also sadly realist because when you get older and settle down this what happens to traditions with your friends. It makes me sad to think about, but happy to watch.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
