We will all get bored at some point during our college career. Here are just a few of the things that I do when I am bored.

1. Drive on the back roads

Just blast music and roll the windows down if the weather is not too cold.

2. Go to steak and shake

Everyone loves a good steak burger and fries.

3. Go to Culver's

SIUE discount and some pretty good ice cream.

4. Chill at Gas-Donald's

I never fail to see someone I know plus I'm pretty sure they have the cheapest gas.

5. Walk around campus

Campus is huge and there's a lot of places to walk around.

6. Drive around campus but beware of the deer

Again, campus is huge.

7. Drive to neighboring towns

There are so many towns around and each town has their own quirks.

8. Go to St. Clair Square

Because who doesn't love a good mall trip.

9. Just go to Fairview Heights, they have plenty of stores

Again, who does not love to shop?

10. Go to Breese

Ski and Dairy King, need I say more?

11. Have a night in

You can watch movies or play games.

12. Go to the movies

Wherenberg does cheap movie tickets on Tuesday's and they are just a much better theater than AMC.

13. Sleep

Sleep is NOT for the weak and never has been. Sleep is a blessing. Do not take advantage of nap opportunities.

14. Do homework

I'm sure you have something that is due soon or just need to study a little bit more.

15. Go to St. Louis

SIUE is about 20-30 minutes from campus. There is so much to do around St. Louis. You can go to a Blues game if it is hockey season or even a Cardinals game if it is baseball season.

16. Go to St. Charles

It is about an hour away but there is so much to do. There is a mall, a nice Wherenberg movie theater and much more

These are just some of the things or places you can go while you are bored. Edwardsville is a pretty good-sized town and there are a lot of things to do in the surrounding areas.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
