1. You don’t really worry about her stealing your clothes…except that ONE thing that you love above all else

Seriously. You two are different in pretty much every way imaginable, including your senses of fashion, but there happens to be one very special thing in your closet that you absolutely love and practically have to keep under lock and key to keep her away from it.

2. You struggle to know what to do together

It’s hard to find activities you both love, so you end up switching off being the one to pick. It means you make sacrifices sometimes, but you also get to do some cool stuff you might not get around to otherwise. Plus, you two are always down for some heart-to-heart conversation.

3. Her friends are a lot like you

They say opposites attract, and in this case, it seems kind of true. When her friends come over, you notice they are similar to yourself…hmm, maybe she likes you after all!

4. You can go from viciously angry to obsessed with each other in two seconds

She just makes you so mad sometimes!! But then all of the sudden you remember how totally awesome and unique she is, and all the good times come flooding back and it’s hard to stay mad. Even when she does the most infuriating things.

5. She doesn't always realize how much she is annoying you

Because you two are so different, some things bother you that she would never care about. And vice-versa. So sometimes she annoys you without even meaning to. And vice-versa.

6. You are super protective

Even though she is different than you, you still want to defend her. In fact, your opposite natures make you even more inclined to stick up for her. You’ve learned to live with her quirks and when someone else insults her, you tell them they need to learn to live with it too.

7. When you find a common interest, you literally throw a party.

“OMG WE BOTH LIKE ART.” *aggressive high-fives* *celebratory sister dance* *secret handshake and chant*

(never mind that one of us is a theater kid and the other wants to be a writer…)

8. You envy some of her traits

All the things she’s great at are your weaker aspects, and you wish you could be as good at those things as she is. Chances are, she wishes the same about you. That's one of your strengths as a pair: you balance each other out.

9. You make an awesome team

Like I said, you balance each other out. When the time comes to team up and get the job done, you know what to do. You can communicate like pros and you each have your jobs. Look out, world!

10. You love her fiercely

Through good times and bad, fights and make-ups, sharing and stealing and struggling to understand one another, one thing never changes: you love each other. So much. Sure, maybe you like completely different music and TV, you never read the same books, and she would rather party than stay in with tea and pizza, but she’s your best friend and you would do anything for her. If anything, the fact that you're so different from her makes you admire her all the more. You’ve had to do some work to get to know and understand each other—your differences make you stronger and you two love each other with a deep, long-lasting bond.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
