A letter to my sister

Dear sister,

I love you so much!! I don't tell you nearly enough how much your presence has changed my life. Whenever mom tells me about how I reacted to your birth I laugh because it was a child-like reaction because I had nothing to be jealous about. You are a beautiful creature inside and out and you have so much to offer the world. You are the friend for any friend in need. I guess you have practice with that since you always come to your sisters rescue.

You have a super bright future ahead of you and I know that for a fact. I still remember watching you walk down the stage in your cap and gown with your gold cord, and silver cord for being in National Honor Society. I was so proud of you and every way possible. In that moment I knew nothing could ever stop you because you were ambitious and driven. I knew the world had to make room for you because you demanded it and deserve it in every way possible.

I know you will always face calamities/adversities. There will always be people who do not want to see you succeed. People who will push you down and step on your head for whatever reason. I want you to know when the going gets tough, you are never alone. Your big sister who you may not always like is here for you even if you do not want her to be. I will put anyone who tries messing with you and makes you feel less than in their place without doubt. I will be there when you need a friend and you just cannot be strong anymore. I will be there when you need someone to just listen without saying a single word (I will try my hardest not to say a single word and you know how hard that is for me). When you simply need someone who was there since day 1, I will be there in a jiffy.

Your friends love your bold personality and your loud mouth. Your friends say you are the one to always jump in and defend them. There are a few friends that I do not think deserve you. Remember you need friends who understand that you are a shining star, do not befriend people who will dim your stars. Make sure to sometimes put yourself first because you need to take care of you first and forth most. Learn to defend YOU first and find friends who will do the same.

All I want for you is happiness and success. You make me a proud big sister. I cannot wait to see all your life accomplishments. I cannot wait to see how you change the world with your own special way. You truly are something special and unique. I feel like the luckiest sister to have been gifted with such an amazing individual. I thank God everyday for the gift that is YOU! Remember to never change because you are wonderfully you.

Sincerely, Big Sister

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
