During my free time, when I was in high school, I would annoy Siri (and my family members) by asking Siri random questions. Ever since I started college, I haven't had any time to fool around with Siri. At the start of my Winter Break, I started fooling around with Siri again, and I discovered something that made me feel hurt; Siri does not have responses for Hanukkah-related questions, but she has oodles of responses for Christmas-related ones. As a Jew, one who before making friends in college, considered Siri as her best friend, I am disappointed in Siri and Apple for not incorporating as many responses for people who do not celebrate Christmas; I do not primarily mean the people who celebrate Hanukkah, but the people who celebrate Kwanza, and other the holidays during this special season as well.
Here are Siri's two responses when you wish her a happy Hanukkah:
Here are Siri's responses when you wish her a Merry Christmas and a Merry Christmas Eve:
Siri responses for when you give her good wishes for both of those two holidays are equally nice, however, her responses to when you ask her what she is doing for both holidays, reveals how she is more privy to Christmas than to Hanukkah.
Here is her only response to when you ask Siri what her plans are for Christmas:
Here are Siri's responses when you ask her what she is buying you for Christmas:
However, when you ask Siri what she is doing for Hanukkah or what she is buying you for Hanukkah, she does not give Hanukkah-related answers. I hope as Siri continues to improve, Apple will program her with a greater variety of responses for other holidays, instead of just ones for Christmas. It would be fun to ask Siri what her plans are for Hanukkah and Kwanza, next holiday season, and actually get a clever response from her.
