Valentine's Day is celebrated and viewed as the day of love... So, what about those who aren't in relationships? Walking around any pharmacy, store, mall, or shopping area it's pretty obvious to see Valentine's Day decorations and presents to give. When you're single on Valentine's Day this day gets more known as "singles awareness day" and it's so true. I want to share why being single on Valentine's Day a.k.a "the day of love", isn't a big deal.
First off, there are way more important issues going on in the world at the moment, than to be upset because you don't have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. There are people who are dying from cancer, who don't have money for food, are barely making ends meet, and yet some people have to complain about being single. I understand why people want and crave love, I don't argue against that. Love is one of the most powerful feelings in the world, but it's okay to not be in a relationship right now. Even though tv shows, movies, and billboards make us think that we all have to be in relationships, let me tell you- you don't!
Being single on Valentine's Day isn't the end of the world. It might seem as if everyone is in a relationship around the time of Valentine's Day but don't let any of that get to you!
If we were constantly jumping from one relationship to the next, how would we ever know what we truly wanted or what we didn't want? Being single simply means that you are strong enough and capable of love whenever it comes around. Even though you aren't in one now, it truly isn't the end of the world. Every single day there are worse things that are happening, and not having a love on Valentine's Day is just one of the very minuscule ones... Instead be thankful for the family and friends that you have in your life! Your best friend could even be your date to Valentine's Day!
