Perks Of Being Single On Valentine’s Day

So you're single on Valentine's Day? Most people would think being all by your lonesome on the national day of love is such a tragedy. However, I have a little... okay, maybe a lot experience in this department, and it actually has its perks.

No gift buying.

Since your single, you don't have to buy gifts for anyone! No need to worry about rushing to the mall on a last minute’s notice (because yes, we all wait until the last minute) to buy diamond earrings for your girlfriend or some fancy watch for your boyfriend. Think of all the glorious money you will be saving and get to spend on yourself.

No overrated restaurants.

Who has time to call up the fanciest, most expensive restaurant in town and fuss with getting a table for two to only find out its been booked up for months when all we really want to do is lay on the couch in our PJ's, eat a box of chocolates, and watch a sappy movie.

Treat yo' self.

With all the money you get to save by not having to buy and gift for your significant other or a pricey dinner for two, you get to TREAT. YO. SELF. Go buy yourself those shoes you’ve been wanting or all the V-day chocolate your heart desires.

Sleep all day.

Because why not? You don't have anywhere to be or have anyone to please, so hit the snooze button and sleep your single worries away.

Galentine's Day

Leslie Knope is a real genius for coming up with this fantastic holiday. What’s Galentine’s Day? It’s a day for ladies to celebrate ladies (sorry guys). If you aren’t the only single gal on Valentine’s day spend the day with your friends and live it up. Go out, stay in, who cares, it’s just you ladies. Technically it’s February 13,but we can break the rules.

So Happy Valentine's Day to all you single guys and gals, may you not be alone forever!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
