Hey Love,

So you're single and dateless on Valentines Day. The commercials, the decorations in stores, and Valentines Day Specials at restaurants sort of seem like constant reminders that you're on your own. So you think about setting up a Tinder...don't do that just for Valentines Day (you're better than that)! You're a strong, independent human! It's okay to be single, heck enjoy it! Here are some reasons why you should!

1. The Pressure is Off

Unlike your friends who are coupled off, you don't have to stress over perfect Valentine's Day gifts or plans. Make it your own! Grab your drink of choice, your favorite food, and do your own thing. Or if you're like me, go to class that night.

2. Celebrate Loving You

So you should do this anyway because you're fierce and deserve celebration, make it extra special. (I mean, isn't that what the couple people are doing? Do it for yourself, babe)! Take yourself on a date. Go eat that special dinner (maybe do the Valentine's special and take the other meal for leftovers). Take yourself to a movie and buy a large popcorn and some candy! Just treat yourself.

3. Do Something With Your Friends

Okay, so you're still not convinced that you can enjoy Valentine's Day alone? Then call up your other single friends and have a Galentine's day or Guyentine's Day! (Is Guyentines Day a thing)? Who cares, do something with people you like, not the weird person who just messaged you on Tinder for the first time asking for foot pictures.

4. Do Something for People

So none of the ideas above sound like something you want to do. Okay, do something for someone else. Volunteer at a soup kitchen, buy one of the Valentine's Day special dinners for two and give the second meal to a homeless person. Take some treats to a local animal shelter and see if they would let you hand them out to the animals there. Send something like a couple pizzas to your local police department, fire station, or EMT station.

5. Throw a Party

Either for yourself or you and your friends. If you're just committed to being bummed out about being single and alone on Valentine's Day, throw a pity party or an anti-Valentine's party. Make it fun and full of your favorite guilty pleasures.

The long and the short of it is, just have fun and enjoy some you time!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
