Society often pressures women young and old into believing they need a man to be happy. Somebody to give them attention, take care of them, and make them feel whole. However we are perfectly fine being alone. We are amazing and whole all by ourselves and being single rocks! So in the spirit of Valentines day I have for you 19 reasons why being single at 19 is so fantastic.

1. You don't have to answer to anybody

The world is your oyster and your success is up to you. No one is sitting around telling you what to do and how to do it.

2. Doing whatever you want whenever you want

Anytime day or night you can just go and do and be free.

3. Girls night every night!

Who needs boys when you've got your best friends?

4. All your money is ALL yours

No worries about figuring out gifts or how much to spend on your significant other. All the money in your bank account belongs to you and you don't have to worry about buying dinner or any other random items to make them happy.

5. You get to be the fun, sassy, and single friend

Emphasis on the sassy!

6. Making time for other people isn't a problem

You don't need to make time for boys or anybody at all. All your time can be spent fulfilling personal goals or with friends. The possibilities are endless.

7. You don't have to pay attention to anyone

If you're anything like me you're awful about texting back, calling back, snapchatting back, etc. This isn't a problem however because you have no one that's going to be upset if you fall off the grid for six hours.

8. Flirting

Anyone, anywhere, at anytime can be the next victim. I mean honestly, are any of us good at flirting?

9. Freedom to date a variety of people

You can go out on a date with whoever you want and however many times you want. Nothing has to be serious and none of these dates need to go anywhere so just have fun!

10. Personal grooming doesn't need to be at the top of your list

If you don't wanna shave your legs for a few weeks who is going to be there to care? You don't even have to brush your hair if you don't want to because nobody will get close enough to notice.

11. No worries about their parents liking you

No more of those awkward family dinners and events you were dragged to to please the future in-laws. No more attempts at impressing parents and pretending to be the perfect girl for their son.

12. No random insignificant fights

They are always super annoying and over something that will be completely irrelevant in a week. Like what to eat or why you didn't call him back right away.

13. You only have yourself to please

I want to wear a shirt with dogs on it and socks with chickens on it to my 8am and nobodies going to care. Need I say more?

14. Guy friends

You don't have to care or wonder if it upsets your boyfriend that your best friend is male or that you have friends that are male.

15. No compromise!

This is by far my most favorite part about being single. I hate compromise and I love having things my way. When you're single you can have everything your way all the time.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
