How has this happened? How have we become the oldest on campus? I feel like just yesterday we were the youngest on campus moving into our freshman dorms. We were told to take the four years of college a day at a time because it goes by faster than we could imagine at 18 years old. Well clearly they were right because somehow over night, here we are being seniors.
We are officially one semester away from no longer being surrounded by all the people that we have seen on a daily basis for the past 3.5 years. What are we going to do without our best friends living with us or having lunch with the boys everyday? Who is going to force us to go out on a Wednesday night when we should really be doing homework? Oh wait! No one because we will no longer have homework on a Wednesday night, we will just have work on Thursday morning.
I just do not understand how we are already here. I don't understand how freshman, sophomore, and junior year are already gone. I feel like we fell asleep the night we moved in and bam, here we are. However, the good news is that we did not sleep through it all. We lived it and we lived it well. We made endless memories that we will talk about for the rest of our lives.
We were told these were going to be the best four years of our lives and man were they right! It's a shame college is only meant to last four years because I think I could stay for four more. I always wondered why people would drag out graduating and now that I'm almost at the point of graduation, I completely understand why. They are the smart ones, they are the ones who are really winning here.
So as we are applying for graduation, picking up our caps and gowns, and taking in the last few months we have as college students, lets try and live it up. Our four years are quickly coming to an end and soon we will be in the real world. There will no longer be fraternity parties on Friday night or football games on Saturday afternoons. If you ask me that sounds a lot less fun. However, growing up is inevitable and sadly we are the next group getting our wings and being pushed out of the nest into the working real world.
So, since when are we seniors? Because I could have sworn we had four more years.
