Sims 4: City Living Review

On November 1, 2016, the Sims 4 released a new expansion pack City living. This expansion allows users to move their sims into an apartment in the new city San Myshuno. Sims can now enjoy multicultural cuisine, join the new Social Media and Political career, and attend various exciting festivals. Of course, the new expansion pack also includes new clothing and styles that can be found in Create A Sim.

Since downloading this expansion pack at exactly midnight on November 1st, I have been playing it nonstop. I only take breaks for school work and actual work. Otherwise, I’m playing City Living. The new city San Myshuno is a mix of Tokyo and New York. The graphics for it are absolutely stunning and I find myself just staring at how pretty everything is in this new world. The best part of these pretty graphics? I don’t hit a load screen any time I want my sims to leave their apartment. They can go outside, meet tons of other sims, eat food from vendors, play basketballs, and attend festivals with a lot less load time.

The apartment living in this expansion is quite fabulous. Neighbors, lot traits, and rent add a lot of fun to gameplay. I started my gameplay with a single sim and that has transitioned to a family of six who are all functioning quite well in an apartment. Neighbors are an interesting twist. Some neighbors are fabulous and offered quick friends for my sims. Other neighbors were obnoxious and left me really wanting to move as soon as possible.

My favorite part of the expansion is the festivals. The Sims 4 doesn’t have a whole lot to get sims out of the house. The festivals happen every few days and add a lot of activity to gameplay. There are five different festivals, the Romance Festival, the Spice Festival, the Humor and Hijinks festival, the Geek Con, and the flea market. No festival is so specific that only one certain sim can enjoy. Any sim can have a good time, or terrible time if that’s what you’re going for, at any festival they choose. There are chances to earn simoleons and hone skills. The festivals are perfect for storylines and add fun gameplay.

I don’t really have any complaints with this new expansion. It’s fun and pretty and I am totally addicted to play it. I will return to it as soon as I finish this review. If you’re on the fence about downloading it or not, do it. Every part of this pack is completely worth it. The new additions to the game enrich gameplay and allow for a lot more fun when playing the Sims 4.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
