In today's society, stress is everywhere. People are experiencing stress at younger and younger ages. There are many ways to acquire stress in your life, but there are also many ways to alleviate it! Here are ten of the most simple ways to help get rid of stress in your life (in no specific order).

1. Do Some Yoga!

Yoga is an amazing way to de-stress. It allows you time to be alone and be quiet. It can be a little intimidating and it's not for everyone, but it's something that everyone should try at least once. There are many great channels on YouTube devoted to beginner yoga videos. You may find that you really love it!

2. Aromatherapy

I am a strong believer in aromatherapy. Using an essential oil diffuser, or even burning incense, are both great methods to alleviate stress. There have ben many studies done on the effects of scents, like lavender and lemon, and their ability to help with things such as stress and depression. Some oil diffusers can be quite pricey, but it's truly a great investment.

3. Drink Something Warm

There is something so therapeutic about wrapping your hands around a big mug and drinking coffee or hot tea. This is one of my favorite things to do when I'm stressed. It helps calm me down quite a bit.

4. Listen To Music

Music is the cure to everything. Listening to soft, calm music is really nice when you're stressed. Some of my favorite de-stressing music genres are piano instrumental, jazz, and lo-fi hip-hop.

5. Dim The Lights

Bright lights bring a lot of energy with them. Dimming the lights around you calms the tone down. If you don't have dimmable lights, maybe turn on a small lamp.

6. Artistic Relief

Having an artistic outlet for stress is always nice. I like to write, but you could also draw, paint, make music, or dance. Whatever brings you happiness.

7. Go Outside

Getting fresh air really helps relieve stress. Go on a walk or a run. Ride your bike. Go take some pictures of the nature that surrounds you. Listen to all of the noises and take in all of the colors. You'll feel better in no time.

8. Read

Reading a good book and escaping into it always helps you forget about all of the things that are going on around you. This is my favorite way to relax. The smell of the pages and the feeling of the thin pages between my fingers is incredibly therapeutic.

9. Take A Nap

Taking a nap is always a solid way to get rid of stress. This one is pretty simple. Everybody feels better after a good nap.

10. Clean

Cleaning the things surrounded by you will always make you feel better. Nobody enjoys being surrounded by clutter. If you want to go even deeper, you could do a deep clean and get rid of old, unwanted stuff, so that you can get a fresh start on life

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
