Do you ever just stop to think about the things that make you feel happy you are alive. I know life throws curve balls all the time, but in the midst of it all, there are so many things in this life that should make you feel so happy to be alive.

  1. Cold pizza.
  2. Compliments from random strangers.
  3. Cheek kisses from your crush.
  4. Long drives with your besties.
  5. Jam sessions to your favorite songs by yourself.
  6. Especially Taylor Swift songs!!!!
  7. Heart to hearts with your favorite people.
  8. Family get togethers that involve lots of food.
  9. Spontaneous trips with your bestfriends.
  10. Dancing when everyone else isn’t dancing.
  11. Good morning, goodnight, and have a good day texts.
  12. Being able to talk to God whenever and where ever.
  13. Praying before eating.
  14. Doing good deeds for people who desperately need help.
  15. Holding the door open for old people in grocery stores
  16. Seeing old couples hold hands in public
  17. And not to mention other sweet things that are very rare in this world today
  18. Waking up with nothing to do for the rest of the day.
  19. Giving money to the poor.
  20. Finding a good home for animals who were homeless.
  21. Coming home and being greeted by your pet. Those sweet, slobbery kisses are the best.
  22. Feeling the warm sun hit your face after the long winter months.
  23. Tailgating at your favorite events.
  24. Seeing your favorite team win. GO DAWGS!!
  25. Seeing a full tank of gas in your car.
  26. The refreshing feel of the ocean breeze.
  27. Jumping in your bed with fresh sheets.
  28. Wrapping warm towels around you after they just came out the dryer.
  29. Hot showers after a long day.
  30. SLEEP!!!
  31. Eating at your favorite restaurant out of town.
  32. Drinking wine alone.
  33. Staying up all night watching your favorite TV series on Netflix.
  34. Singing to your favorite songs at concerts until your voice is completely gone.
  35. Laughing until your stomach hurts.
  36. Seeing hard work pay off.
  37. Seeing your GPA rise.
  38. Feeling appreciated.

The list goes on and on. I can guarantee you these things outweigh all the bad that comes along in our life. It is completely up to you on how you go about life living. Bad days come and go. There are a lot of good things in this world. You just have to set a part the bad from the good. You have to learn to fall in love with the simple things in life. Just simply being alive should make you happy.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
