Sometimes, the best things in life are the simple ones.

1. A Glass of Water

A refreshing dose of water not only hydrates you but goes nicely with just about anything.

2. A cup of Coffee

Coffee is about more than just an energy boost. While the taste is a learned love, it is certainly something that we can all indulge in at some point.

3. Pizza

A wise man once said "Pizza brings people together." While this wise man is still single, he certainly knows how to please a crowd.

4. Working Out

Working out does more than just help your physical health. It also improves your mental health. Working out is a chance to better yourself. When nothing else in your life is going well, you can take solace in knowing you took a step outside of your comfort zone and improved some aspect of your life.

5. Sleep

There are all kinds of positive health effects sleep produces. But above all, sleep gives us a chance to escape from all forms of daily stress.

6. Walking

A nice walk outside goes a long way.

7. Friends

Friends do a lot for us--more than they know. But above all, chill hangouts with great people go a long way.

8. Music

Regardless of the type of music you listen to, music is a great escape. It gives us a much-needed outlet in many situations in our lives.

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
