Simple Advice to My Brother

Hey Brother,

I know that sometimes we don't get along, and sometimes we fight. But just know, that I always want the best for you. With that being said, I have some advice for you and I hope that you take it, and use it as you wish. I really want you to succeed in life, and see you do great things.

Always work hard.

Don't ever think things will be handed to you, because I promise that is not how things work. You need to work hard in your life. Making it big places takes hard work. Don't slack off even when you think things are becoming easy. That is when you need to work hard, go ensure things will go your way. I want to watch you become successful, but you need to work hard to get there.

Be nice to everyone.

Being kind is an important thing in life. Kindness will get you where you need to be. Be kind to everyone no matter who they are, you never know where that kindness to someone will lead you. It is important to me that you grow up to be kind and generous. Those are the people that impact others, and I want you to be that kind of person.

Don't give up.

Especially on your dreams. I want you to succeed and do great things in life. I want you to be the best person you can be. Don't ever give up no matter what you're doing: sports, work, or school. I know your abilities will take you very far if you just try. Don't give up on anything you do because its hard or putting up a challenge. I know you can do it, and we all believe in you. You can succeed, so do not give up, even when it might seem like things are too hard.

You can ALWAYS talk to me.

Sometimes things go wrong and Mom and Dad aren't the right people to talk to. Just know that you can always count on my to be a listening ear. I will always be there to talk and hopefully give you some good advice.

Never forget where you came from.

Like Tim McGraw says, "always stay humble and kind." These are words to live by. remember that in your heart you are just a small town guy. No matter where life takes you, remember where you came from, and where you got your start.

Stay close to family.

In all honesty, family should always be number 1. They have always been there for you, and always will be. Don't ever forget that. When the road gets tough, your family will always be there for you. Don't lose sight of that, because I guarantee they want to see you succeed just as much as I do.

Next time you need some encouragement, remember you can always look to me. Im your number 1 fan in life, and I a rooting for you to become a successful person. Stay humble, and remember your roots.

Love always, your sister.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

35
Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).
