Rend Lake College is a community college located in the village of Ina, Illinois. As someone who changes their mind a lot, I spent several years there going back and forth on what I wanted to do with my life. Because of that, I saw many people come and go, and learned many things along the way...both educationally, and personally. Here are just a few signs that you may have been a proud Warrior at Rend Lake College:
1. You took frequent naps in the library or in the crow's nest of the theatre.
2. You had at least one friend who was 10+ years older than you
3. You were ALWAYS cold because the campus design was based on a college in Arizona, so there was ALWAYS wind.
4. If you had a class in the vocational building, you may have even brought a blanket with you to class
5. You remember seeing a guy singing and playing guitar randomly around campus
6. Fun Fest was kind of corny, but it was actually pretty fun
7. You swore to never eat McDonald's or Subway ever again, on a daily basis...only to eat one or the other the next day
8. If you were a theatre, art, or music student, you spent the majority of your free time in the theatre lobby
9. You played pool or watched people play pool in the South Oasis
10. But let's be honest, the North Oasis was much more conveniently located for most people
11. You remember seeing the kids from the children's center walking around campus holding onto a rope
12. You cordially greeted the prisoners that came from across the street to do their community service
13. You remember when there was positive graffiti in one of the theatre bathroom stalls before they repainted them
14. You had to attend class even when all of the surrounding high schools were off on a snow day
15. You went to the campus bookstore solely to get jelly beans
16. You had more Rend Lake College T-shirts than you could count
