I've been teased for years about my "germ problem." Yeah, I may get grossed out easily, sue me. I like things clean and germ free. Because germs are gross, duh. I'm sure everyone agrees with that statement; however, some of us handle situations differently. You may be a germaphobe if:
1. You NEVER let anyone drink after you.
Or eat after you. Unless they get a new fork and use it only once. Then you have to face that awkward conversation where they ask, "Hey can I have a sip of that?" ...No. I've never understood people who are totally okay with passing their drink around and sharing with everyone.
2. You've gotten so many bottles of hand sanitizer for your birthday/Christmas/any other holiday.
I have a giant bottle of Germ-X and pretty much every scent of Bath and Body works hand sanitizer. People never have to worry about what to get me, so I'm easy to shop for. It's kind of a collection that I take pride in.
3. You get excited when you meet someone else who is "like you."
Finally, someone who understands. I definitely won't have to worry about them asking me for a drink of my water.
4. Meeting new people can cause anxiety.
Shaking hands? Nope. Hugging? Nope. A perfect time for one of those six bottles of hand sanitizer I have in my purse.
5. Public bathrooms are your version of HELL.
Is it the door handle going in, the toilets, the sinks? All of the above.
6. Being in public places freak you out.
Any kind of public transit, big crowds, etc. Imagine all of the germs floating around there.
7. You feel betrayed by your immune system when you get sick.
I wash my hands all the time. I avoid directly touching door handles and I keep multiple bottles of hand sanitizer in my purse. How did this happen?
8. You feel weird going to people's houses.
How well do they clean their house? Do they ever clean at all? The ultimate anxiety attack.
Hey, being a germaphobe is totally okay. We're always clean, and people never have to worry about things that we do, because if it comes from our hands it will definitely be germ free.
