As the semester winds down, finals are around the corner and winter is gradually approaching us I have found myself having a difficult time getting up in the morning. Overall, I love being in my comfy bed but I'm starting to hit that phase of the year where you are just so tired that almost no amount of caffeine can help. Maybe it's just because I'm running around my college campus every day. I am generally a cheery person, but I'm dead inside without my cup of coffee first thing in the morning. Here are some signs you may love to sleep, maybe even a little too much:

1. You get grumpy when someone wakes you.

2. It takes a lot of effort to get out of bed. You usually have to set multiple alarms.

3. You made it to breakfast? I'm proud of you.

4. You didn't even have your first sip of coffee and other people are a little too awake for you to handle.

5. Mom called you on the phone but you're just not up for talking.

6. Walking through the hallways like:

8. When someone comes up to talk to you and you are physically present but not mentally.

9. When you are at work or in class and your mind is screaming, "I WANT MY BED!"

10. Is it time to clock out yet? Nope, it's not even noon.

11. You make up absurd statement about being in bed at any given moment.

12. You avoid responsibilities by taking a nap.

13. Sleepovers with friends aren't like the old days anymore. You immediately knock out the minute you hit the bed.

14. When are so tired when you cannot sleep. Those moments are the worse!

15. No one understands how you can sleep so much.

16. Eventually the end of the day arrives. Bedtime could not come sooner enough!

Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
