The North Metro area of Georgia (from Fulton to Hall County, south to north, and Gwinnett to Cobb, east to west) is one of the greatest places in the world and home to an insane amount of cool people and places. If you've lived here for any amount of time, you know that there are several things that make this place unique and you're proud to call it home.
1. No matter what kind of day you're having, hearing Tom Shane's voice come over the radio can always soothe your nerves.
And you'll always have a friend in the diamond business.
2. There are few things more frightening and borderline apocalyptic than a half inch of snow.
But it offends you greatly when Northerners make fun of it. That stuff is mostly ice, anyway. They couldn't handle driving on it any better than we do.
3. You're extremely defensive of Coca-Cola.
Near-death experience: the time I told people I preferred Pepsi.
4. And you feel the same way about Chick-fil-A.
Wait, I can't be in a relationship with the chicken sandwich? Oh, okay. Sorry, Facebook.
5. If you hear someone call it "Hotlanta," you know there's a foreigner in your midst.
Well, a foreigner to Georgia, at least.
6. Eating at Cook Out makes you feel like you're cheating on The Varsity.
7. No matter where in the Metro Area you live, you have to plan for traffic.
And you often find yourself getting the highway or interstate name confused for the speed limit. Especially on 75, 85, and, let's be honest, 400.
8. You've come to accept the sweat that covers your body in the summer as a fashion accessory.
9. You have a deep and inexplicable love for Waffle House, and it's the perfect end to any occasion.
Football game? Waffle House. Wedding? Waffle House. Funeral? Waffle House.
10. You're always on the lookout for the Chrisleys or the Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Oh, and the sweet people from "Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta." Honey Boo Boo and her family? Not so much.
11. You're pretty sure that somehow, somewhere, there's always a movie or TV show being filmed within a few miles of you.
And some of your cities have created Facebook pages for it.Shoutout to you, Cruisin' Ball Ground.
12. Basically everything is within twenty minutes from you ...
... and probably involves getting on Highway 20.
13. Your high school has probably dropped a rap video.
See "Brookwood Where You At?".
14. And your "rival" high school came back with a response in rap form.
Now see "Grayson Step Your Game Up."
