Most people go through a lot of "best friends" in their lifetime, so were those ever really your best friends? Probably, yes. However, the lucky people in this world occasionally get stuck with that kind of best friend that's a "soul-mate, ride or die, life-long partner in crime" and that's the rare kind of friendship. That's the kind of friendship that sticks around and that I am so incredibly lucky to have. Here are a couple signs you've met your "Ultimate BFF.'
1. You can talk 24/7 OR you can go a day or two and it doesn't shake you. (However, we know that won't happen because real best friends take snap streaks seriously.)
2. No topic is ever too personal. From the heart to hearts to the "is this suppose to happen" questions about your bodily functions.
3. You have a key to their apartment. That's true love.
4. You can do something truly idiotic and they will only judge you for a couple seconds before helping you move forward.
5. They go along with any of your insane, stupid, or outrageous ideas.
6. Each of your parents refers to the other as their child and you refer to their parents as "mom and dad."
7. You make sacrifices for each other, big and little.
8. Distance makes no difference.
9. You say I love you every time you say goodbye.
10. You tell the other when they have something on their face. (It's painful for everyone to have to point it out. Best friends embrace the pain)
11. You have an album of photos on your phone that is just of you two.
12. You take holidays and birthdays extremely serious. Forget candy and fuzzy socks, bring in the $45 eyeshadow palette and overpriced artsy things you found at urban outfitters.
13. You always share everything with no questions asked. If one person is sick, it's a given that the other is or is soon to follow.
This list is just the beginning. However, appreciate your friends that appreciate you. If you are lucky enough to have found that friend that sticks with you through your ups and downs and shares every little detail of your lives together, keep them. Don't ever take a true friendship for granted.
