The 21st century never looked so good.

Signs You Grew Up In The 2000s

For many of us millennials, the early 2000s was the time to be alive! There were so many amazing things happening, so many must-have inventions coming out and a crazy amount of television and celebrity gossip that we were drawn to. For anyone entering their teen years between 2000 and 2010, boy did you luck out.

1. Highlights were all the rage

Everyone wanted hair like Kelly Clarkson. Everyone! Highlights were the "it" thing in the early 2000s. If someone came into school with them, you knew they were making a social statement.

2. Frosted tips also (somehow) took off

Nothing screams " '90s and early-2000s boy band" quite like frosted tips. You saw them on every A-list celebrity or singer, and you could even catch some boys around your school trying to rock the pop star look.

3. And apparently, this was a thing...

4. And this...

5. And everyone wanted hair tattoos

As soon as you saw these on TV, you knew you had to have them! These fun gel-based hair stamps were all the rage for young kids growing up in the early 2000s.

6. We had better TV shows

From "Cat-Dog," "Billy and Mandy," "Dexter's Laboratory," "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" and many others, these shows shaped our childhood. The cartoons you see on TV now just don't amount to the gold we got to experience every Saturday morning.

7. Silly bands were life

If you didn't beg your parents, at least once, to spend $5 on a pack of rubber bands, then you didn't grow up in the 2000s. These things were everywhere. People would trade them for other Silly Bands, gum or even money. And if you happened to catch a lucky break and find a rare one, you were set for the year. Everyone had these around their wrists and wore them with pride.

8. You knew every word to every "High School Musical" song

If you grew up in the early 2000s, you knew "High School Musical" like the back of your hand. You knew every word to every song, and could still probably sing to all of the movies if you had to.

9. You loved these men

Any girl (and some guys) who grew up in the early 2000s fought over the men of "Twilight." If you didn't fight for either Team Edward or Team Jacob, then you were clearly living under a rock for 10 years.

10. This man's movies were gold!

The amount of laughs we received from these movies were innumerable! We still find ourselves putting our pinkies to our lips and requesting "One Million Dollars!" whenever we need money.

11. You gawked over these men

These men and their voices made you question every other boy you had met in your life. They were adorable men who could sing their way right into the hearts of every girl in the 2000s.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
