Signs you are ready to go back to school

Summer can't last forever.

Signs you are ready to go back to school

All of us look forward to summer and the rest time that it brings. But after a while you become ready to get back to school. Perhaps out of boredom, or perhaps because you miss your friends. Regardless of our reason, there are several things that those of us who are ready for the semester to begin have in common.

1. Feeling like you've been doing the same thing all summer long.

Even our favorite activities can get boring after a while. On campus, there is usually always something going on, and that is not the case while you're at home. As much as I love to read books and watch Netflix, something that is a bit more active would be a welcome change.

2. You actually miss the food on campus.

This may sound a bit strange to some, but the food is actually one of the things I'm looking forward to when I get back. While the food at home is most definitely tastier, there's something to be said about having choices on what you want to eat. Plus, at college, no one is going to judge you for eating pasta for lunch and dinner, or ordering pizza late at night.

3. You resent not having everything in walking distance.

Being able to take a short walk to get those pizza rolls I've been craving all day is something that I definitely took for granted. Now I have to wait to get a ride If I want to go anywhere.

4. Actually looking forward to your classes.

Being a History major means that I will definitely have a lot of writing to do this fall. Do I find this a bit intimidating? Yes. Does that stop me from being excited to take a class about medieval Europe? Absolutely not. Those three History classes I am taking are going to be a challenge, I realize that. But I also can't wait to get all of that neat information.

5. Little things are annoying you more.

This is one of those things that just seems to go along with wanting a change in pace. It happens when I'm ready for school to end, so it makes sense that it would happen when I'm ready for school to begin.

6. You miss having your friends around all the time.

This is especially true for those of us who are more introverted. Even though I am a girl who definitely needs my privacy, I am excited to be surrounded by my friends again.

The summer is coming to a close, and while some people are dreading the beginning of fall semester, I am happy that I have some things to look forward to.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
