An abusive relationship is not always immediately obvious, especially for the participants. And it doesn't always take physical aggression or obvious brutality to create a toxic environment. Sometimes it's the little things that mean it's time for you to go.
1. They always act as if you're going to cheat on them.
They always accuse you of cheating, even if you've never cheated on them before.
2. They want to control everything in your life.
They want to be on top of everything you do and completely control who you hang out with, where you go, and what you do.
3. They want to isolate you from your friends and family.
4. They blame you for everything.
5. They are jealous of things that make you more independent.
They're scared of you being more independent, so they get jealous of your life outside your relationship, including your ambitions, successes, and new friends.
