7 Signs You Are Already In The Holiday Spirit

Now that the excitement of Halloween is over, we all know what that means: Christmas is here! Well, not exactly. It is almost a month and a half away. We also can’t forget about Thanksgiving, right? A holiday where all we do is eat food, watch football and prepare for "Hunger Games"-style shopping the next day is something that should be appreciated. Anyways, if you are anything like me and probably every store and media outlet in the United States, the moment the Jack-o’-lanterns go down, the Christmas tree goes up. Here are some signs that show that you are already in the holiday spirit.

1. You have already started listening to Christmas music.

There is nothing as festive and happy as Christmas music so as soon as it hit November 1, you began to belt out all of your favorite Christmas songs. Whether it’s singing your heart out to "All I Want For Christmas" or dancing around your room to "Jingle Bell Rock," you are definitely in the holiday spirit.

2. You got excited when you saw Santa at the mall.

You couldn’t help but smile and embrace the Christmas spirit when you saw the tree and Santa picture station being set up at the mall. You may be a little to old to take a picture with Santa now, but it definitely is a sign the holidays are upon us.

3. Christmas cookies.

You spotted these cookies at the supermarket and you had to have them. No one can resist a sugar cookie with a snowman on it!

4. You already know the perfect gifts to get your friends.

You finally get to give your friends the perfect gifts. Whether you are already scoping out Black Friday deals to get presents or you have the funniest DIY present ever planned out for your best friend, nothing beats the excitement of giving.

5. You have already started watching Christmas movies.

"Home Alone," "Elf," "The Polar Express," -- there are just so many amazing Christmas movies to watch. Might as well get a head start and start watching them all now, right?

6. You were excited for the return of red cups at Starbucks.

As soon as Halloween passed, you immediately went to Starbucks to get a drink in their red Christmas cup. Also, you began to add Christmas-flavored creamers to your coffee every day. Let’s be real, if your coffee isn’t peppermint- or gingerbread-flavored, is it even the holidays?

7. You already have a Christmas list.

'Tis the season for giving -- but also for receiving. You already have the perfect gift in mind, whether it is something like that really cute jacket from the Balmain x H&M collection (hint) or cute socks (boot socks are the best), you already know what you want and you aren’t afraid to drop hints about it.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
