Congrats! You just finished the rush process. You spent a whole week or weekend spending long hours talking to sorority sisters, looking your absolute best, and keeping your fingers crossed your top choice loves you as much as you love them. Bid Day has come and gone, and you've officially found your home and where you belong. The period that comes now is the pledging period or the period of New Member Education -- and it is the best part of Greek Life. Here's why:

You get your big

Soon enough you're going to get a Big Sister, someone who meshes super well with you. This girl is going to be one of your best friends. And she spoils you during big/little week. Which is a huge plus.

You spend so much time with your new member class

From now on you're going to be constantly hanging out with your sisters. Whether it's NME, going to the gym, or even grabbing coffee before class, every opportunity can now become a chance for you to get to know everyone.

Say goodbye to your comfort zone

All these people who claim to be your sisters are going to come up to you on campus with a wave or a hug. And it's going to be a little awkward. Especially if they're not wearing their letters and you've never seen them before in your life. However, the new member process really encourages you to meet a whole group of new people while also forcing you to reflect upon who you are, too.

Walking into your room to find it all decorated with gifts from your big

Big/Little reveal day is the day everyone looks forward to. There's nothing more exciting then walking into your room to find your bed covered in letters, tshirts, canvasses, and dozens of other treats. It's the Greek Christmas!

Knowing you now have a whole group of people who are there for you whenever you need them

Whether it's a death in the family, a really bad breakup, or even just the flu, your sisters will be there no matter what, no questions asked. (Ex-boyfriends, beware)

Endless baked goods

Whether it's through charity bake sales or through homemade cookies from your big, prepare to eat a lot of junk food.

Initiation

You're exhausted from the pledging process, but hey now it's time to party after the ceremony. You're officially a sister! Cheers!

You become so close to a group of girls you had never known before, and you wouldn't trade it for the world

It's crazy how close you get to your fellow pledge sisters. Through New Member Education where you traded parties for ice breakers and bonding activities, you've found your home.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.
