So Thanksgiving break has ended and you head back to school for those few weeks to prepare for finals. Finals time is the time to celebrate completing your classes, as well as dread and stress over what comes along with the actual exams. Although you have time to prepare, a lot of students, like me, tend to underestimate the amount of work they have to do. Here are ten stages of preparation for finals as told by (really creepy) Shrek gifs:

Procrastination

You have so much time to start preparing for finals, you're completely fine. Of course you have time to go and hang out with your friends, go to parties, go shopping, and watch an entire Netflix series.

And Then It Begins

You can totally do this! A few days before finals approaches and you find a nice quiet place to study. Like a good student, you crack open the dusty textbooks that have been sitting in your room all semester and start reading. You're gleaming with confidence, these finals are going to be a piece of cake, no doubt about it.

Realization...

After twenty minutes of reading, you have no idea what you just read. Was this taught in class? Did you even listen in class? What class is this even for? All of the anxiety hits you at once.

Then It Sinks In

The night before comes and you quickly realize how much work you have left to do and fully comprehend with such little time. Still sitting at the same desk, you manage to keep going at it and take in as much information as you can.

Sleep Deprivation

5AM rolls around and you are still studying, you know you have to go to bed but you still have work to do. You get as much work done until you unintentionally fall asleep.

The Next Morning

After that beautiful three hours of sleep you just got, it is time to shine. You put your nicest pair of sweatpants on and head for the door. After all, you should always dress for success. Although you are exhausted and a little disoriented, you walk through campus, ready to take on this exam.

You Got This

You sit down and fill in the bubbles on your scantron and start your exam. They pass out the test and that anxiety from last night comes back. Although you do not recognize a lot that is on the test, the show must go on. When in doubt, choose C.

You Out

You amazingly finish with time to spare. You're too good for these people and walk out knowing you never have to see them again.

It's Ogre!

You did it! You (might have) aced those finals. You have nothing left to stress over! Forget about them, It's party time!

Hello, Holidays!

Dig out your ugly sweaters, it is time for Winter break. No more responsibilities! Congratulations on surviving another semester! See ya'll next year!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
