Once school starts again we won't be watching Netflix.
Okay ...that might be a lie, but the television hours will be seriously decreased. Here are the binge-worthy shows that I am excited to get into before school.
1. Wentworth
Set in an Australian Women's prison, this drama puts Orange is the New Black to shame. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy OITNB, but Wentworth shows an intensity and danger that isn't shown on OITNB. This show is not for those sensitive to ...well anything in the adult realm. I am not saying it is as gruesome as Game of Thrones, but it's close.
2. Glee
Most of us have seen this inaccurate version of high school life. What many may not know is that this show didn't end after the kids finished high school ...the stories have continued into their 20s. There is never a dull moment with this dramatic crew and watching their crazy lives might remind you that your life's not so bad.
3. Gilmore Girls
Guess who's back again? No but really. It is time to rewatch the original Gilmore Girls. Who wouldn't want to rewatch Rory grow up and go through all the awkward teen stuff? And the uncomfortable flirting between Luke and Lorelai gives this single girl hope for the future.
4. Mad Men
This show is set in the 1960s in The Big Apple. Mad Men follows a group of advertisers (I know sounds pretty lame), but I have a feeling that this is not your ordinary office crew. These cutthroat advertisers show us into the life of an entrepreneur. Who doesn't want a little flashback time?
5. Parks and Recreation
This one is a favorite for my roommate. This is an all-star cast and very episode is jam-packed with funny, clever and great one-liners. Parks and Rec is a must add for anyone looking for a good laugh.
6. Stranger Things
If you like science fiction and/or mystery, this show is for you. Netflix users have rated Stranger Things with 5 stars, and this is not an easy feat. After a boy vanishes from a small town, a strange little girl pops into the picture surrounded by secret mysterious experiments.
7. One Tree Hill
This is by no means a new show. I can remember hearing my older cousins talking about it while we were growing up but I was always too young to watch it. When One Tree Hill popped up on my Netflix I was reminded that I never watched it. Time to binge.
8. Scrubs
Full of inappropriate jokes and witty one-liners, Scrubs is a must watch for anyone stressed about life. One twenty-two minute episode later, and I was stress free. Between packing and getting everything straightened up for school, Scrubs is a must watch for anyone who needs a few laughs.
9. Dexter
Who doesn't love a story about a serial killer of serial killers? Talk about retribution. Dexter, while he may be a sociopath, uses his powers for "good" instead of bad. For anyone who likes revenge and dark humor this is for you.
10. House of Cards
Looking at politics today it is easy to think that everyone is crooked. House of Cards confirms that suspicion fully. Frank Underwood starts of as the house majority whip and slowly moves his way around like a snake. While being mad at him, you also want him to succeed ...and fail at the same time, maybe that's just me. This is not for all viewers and the third season is hard to watch but (I promise) it gets better. If you can power though then this show, it is totally binge-worthy.
Not all these shows are new, but they are all on Netflix. So binge away my fellow college students.
Binge away.
