Summer is here, and for most of you, that means having some free time. So what else should you do besides catch up on some television shows? Watching TV is the best way to unwind and relax after a semester. Also, you'll be able to have more conversations with your friends now that you're all caught up. I am going to list a few shows I recommend that you guys should binge.

1. "Riverdale"

Wikipedia

"Riverdale" is such a captivating show. It is based on The Archie Comics, with characters like Archie, Veronica, Betty, and Jughead. Now it is not like the comic book where they have some goofy times. This show is a thriller, filled with drama, sex, and murders. Riverdale is a small town where everyone knows each other and they all go and have dinner at Pop's Chock'Lit Diner. The drama starts with a death of a boy from a powerful family. This show is very addicting and will have you on the edge of your seat.

2. "Black-ish"

Wikipedia

This show is my favorite comedy to watch on Tuesdays. It is about an African-American family living in a predominantly white neighborhood in California. They have five children, who go to a private school that is filled with mostly white kids. So Andre the father is always trying to raise their kids in a good neighborhood and take them to a good school. But is trying to keep them in touch with their African-American background. He is always explaining certain things about their culture to his children when he sees them acting like their peers. When you watch this show, you feel like you are part of the family and you can semi-relate to them. They deal with real-world problems and discuss them like a family should. It is not only a comedy, you actually learn some history though out a few episodes. It is definitely a must watch.

3. "Grown-ish"

Wikipedia

Now "Grown-ish" is a spin-off show of "Black-ish". It follows the oldest child Zoey and her friends going through their college experience. It shows us the culture that college kids have and the issues they go through. And it is really interesting and I love it. I feel like I can relate to them even though I already graduated. This is the perfect show to binge-watch before the season 2 comes out.

4. "Santa Clarita Diet"

Wikipedia

I absolutely love Drew Barrymore in this. She is a mom and a wife living in the Santa Clarita Suburbs. She and her husband are realtors who have a nice normal life. And Drew's character happens to be zombie-like person who eats people. She happens to be affected by a virus that turns people into cannibals. And the series follows her and her family trying to figure out how to fix this and how this happened. If you haven't watched it, you need to start now!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
