Summer is here, and many TV series have wound down or have just started back up. This means there are now plenty of opportunities to sit down and binge watch as many shows as you possibly can before the fall semester starts back up again. Here is a list of a few shows that you should binge watch during your summer break.

1. Supernatural

Supernatural is one of my favorite television shows of all time, and quite often the first I recommend to others who are looking for something new to watch. This television series has just completed their eleventh season, and are supposed to return for a 12th season in September. The series is about two brothers who take on the supernatural while traveling across the country, saving the world, and usually stopping the apocalypse. It’s spooky, hilarious, and downright heartwarming, and definitely something you should check out.

2. Sherlock

Sherlock from the BBC has just three seasons and a Christmas special to their name right now, but the show is definitely one that can never get old. Each episode deserves multiple viewings, and with each different viewing brings new observations for the audience. With the series set to come back this winter, I recommend watching and rewatching every episode over and over.

3. Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars is a show that ran from 2004 to 2007, and while it only has three brief seasons, they are a rollercoaster ride to watch. The series follows a teenage girl attempting to uncover the murder of her best friend in the first season, the death of many classmates in the second season, and her sleuthing experiences in college for the final season. There are many twists and turns, and you will be glued to the TV truly binge-watching this series.

4. Outlander

Outlander is a show from Starz network based on a novel of the same name. It follows a nurse from World War II as she is sent back in time to the 1740s, and attempts to return to her normal era while facing many challenges of not changing the future along the way, as well as surviving in a time that she is not familiar with. The show, as well as the novel it is adapted from, are both gems in their respective categories, and I thoroughly enjoyed both versions. Both are filled with adventure, fantasy, and romance galore. You will be swept back in time quickly while binge watching this, so beware!

5. Avatar: The Last Airbender

The Last Airbender is a throwback to my childhood, and is a show that stills holds up even today. It follows a brother and sister of the water tribe as they help the avatar, the master of all four elements of earth, water, air, and fire, and save the world from the evil fire lord. This animated show is worth a good binge watching whether you watched the show before or if it is your first viewing. It is often light and playful, but when the adult themes come in, the show balance it almost flawlessly.

Whether these shows are something you are into or not, they are definitely binge worthy. I hope that you can pick at least one of these recommended shows and enjoy them throughout your summer.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
