Did the ending of "Sense8" leave you with a gaping hole inside your soul? Are you questioning how you should go on in your life? Do you want to fill that hole with another binge-able show? You are in luck, my friend. Here are seven shows that share some of the same elements that "Sense8" uses to tell its beautiful story.
1. Supernatural
"Supernatural", if you haven't heard of it, is a drama featuring two brothers just trying to save the world. It just got renewed for its 14th season, which makes it scarily perfect for binging! This insane world of unnaturally-pretty angels, demons and other creatures should keep your mind occupied while you mourn the end of "Sense8." Like "Sense8," found family is a huge idea in "Supernatural" along with the feeling that family can be chosen.
The first 13 seasons can be found on Netflix.
2. The 100
When a nuclear war destroys Earth, the only survivors are those that are lucky (?) enough to be in a space station called the Arc. After almost a century, 100 juvenile delinquents are sent down to test its survivability. They discover that they are not alone because — of course — they're not. And, like "Sense8," an odd group of misfits prove themselves to be really freaking awesome.
The CW app has the latest episodes of "The 100" as of right now, and Netflix currently has four seasons of the show ready for watching.
3. Heroes
Ordinary people discover they have extraordinary powers and attempt to navigate their daily lives as if they're not falling apart inside (#relatable). The protagonists of "Heroes," just like the sensates, have to figure out how to juggle these new powers and responsibilities with the newfound chaos in their existences. You can tune into their struggle on Vudu, Amazon Video and iTunes.
4. 3%
In a dystopian future where the rich live apart from the poverty-stricken, those who come of age are given the chance to join the elite "3%" by going through The Process. Revolutionists plot to change the hierarchy to benefit the masses because it wouldn't be a dystopia without some sort of revolution, would it? The 3% share the sentiments of the elitist Homo sapiens in "Sense8," and the show is a Netflix original.
5. The Magicians
Based off the book series by Lev Grossman, "The Magicians" is about seven magicians who discover that the supposedly-fictional world of Fillory is real, complete with all manners of creatures. I kind of relate to "The Magicians" because, like the main characters, I had zero clue what I was doing during my more difficult endeavors. Then again, their adventures were a lot more at risk of death, so they probably had it a lot harder than I did. But whatever, right?
Both "Sense8" and "The Magicians" feature an unlikely group of people working together to face an earth-shattering evil. You can watch the first couple seasons of "The Magicians" on Netflix, while more recent episodes are available on SyFy.
Warning: "The Magicians" also messes with your heartstrings similar to the way Sense8 does but then flips around so fast that it gives your emotions whiplash. You have been forewarned.
6. The Shannara Chronicles
Thousands of years into the future is a mystical world where humans are scarce due to the plethora of humanoid species occupying the planet. Heroes of the Four Lands embark on a quest to prevent demons from slaughtering everyone for the heck of it. Like "Sense8," "The Shannara Chronicles" features an evolved section of humanity, as it has goblins, dwarves, trolls and elves.
"The Shannara Chronicles" in its entirety can be found on Netflix, Amazon and iTunes.
7. Into the Badlands
Another dystopian future, except this one is comprised of Barons who rule what was formerly the United States. The Barons are challenged by a tag team of a magical young boy and a legendary warrior, and chaos and hijinks ensue. Both "Into the Badlands" and "Sense8" feature a butt-kicking character named Sun(ny), and both can kill you with a ribbon and a spoon. Don't mess with them.
You can find this show on AMC, Amazon Video and iTunes.
