As we embark upon the enchanting and marvelously entertaining season that is summer, we are given an extensive sense of freedom of how and where to concentrate all of our newfound free time. We could spend our days exploring the fresh hiking trails throughout the nature of our home states, and our nights guzzling down the assorted flavors of those half-off milkshakes from Sonic. We could contribute our time to learning how to play frisbee golf, or maybe even finally cleaning out our closets at home that we have said we would clean out for, seriously, years. We could accomplish and achieve any of these favoring endeavors within the days of our summer vacation, but is there a more easygoing option? A way to make use of our time with minimal effort? Well, look no further! The answer to these questions is granted to us in the most beautiful way: Netflix.

Here are some shows that are impeccable for binge watching on those sweltering summer days when you are struggling to find the motivation needed to undertake constructive daily operations:

"How I Met Your Mother"

A show wholly devoted to following the main character, Ted Mosby, on his troublesome exploration to find love. Along the way you meet Ted's four best friends: Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin. The show basically revolves around these five friends and the enormously differing plot lines of each individual's life. The way it engages viewers? Blue french horns, slap bets, and "suiting up."

"Parks and Recreation"

Do you love an empowering female lead, delicious waffles, and Chris Pratt? Then this is the comedy for you! It's full of Aziz Ansari being the epitome of bougie, Amy Poehler dominating in her role as a dedicated and entirely focusing member of the Indiana State Parks Department, and Adam Scott looking beyond handsome in a fine selection of J Crew sweaters.

"House Of Cards"

This show is a bit darker than the ones listed previously, but it is equally, if not more, entertaining. Being primarily set on Capitol Hill, viewers witness the maliciousness of House Majority Whip Frank Underwood and his monstrous campaign in climbing the political ladder. Frank Underwood is played by the always smart and suave Kevin Spacey, which is a treat in itself. Plus, if you make it to season three, you get to see Spacey sweetly croon a rendition of classic Sinatra that is worthy of making anyone, and I mean anyone, swoon.

"New Girl"

"New Girl" follows Jessica Day and all of her quirky trends and habits while living in a California loft (which is very very nice, if I might add) with her three male roommates. What could be better, right?! This show is one that is pretty easy to become invested in, making it a perfect candidate for summer binge watching. Viewers meet Day's varied boyfriends and the usually awkward encounters suffered by the couple that many of us can relate to in reality ... for the most part, at least. There is even one episode that features Prince (may he rest in peace), and then concludes with an upbeat duet from he and Zooey Deschanel in a mansion adorned with numerous crystal chandeliers. It is a real winner.

Now that you have some suggestions of where to start your summer marathon of binging, go get to watching!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
