I love my Netflix shows, like "Gilmore Girls", "Gossip Girl", "90210", and many others. But of course, my boyfriend isn't interested in watching those shows. For awhile, we struggled to find shows to watch together, but finally we found a good amount of comedies and dramas that we could both enjoy together. What better way to spend Valentines Day than with the two things I love most? Boyfriend and Netflix. Here are some of our favorites:

1. "Shameless"

Shameless is the perfect balance between a drama, comedy, and romance. This show makes you fall in love with some characters and hate others. You feel as if you are part of the Gallagher family, and you're experiencing what they are. Its a fantastic show that pushes boundaries and doesn't cookie-cut a lifestyle impoverished.

2. "Scrubs"

Scrubs is a light hearted version of Grey's Anatomy. There's sometimes drama, but it usually blows over in an episode or so. The quirky comedic stylings of the characters makes this happy go lucky show perfect to turn on after a long day.

3. "New Girl"

Similar to Scrubs, New Girl is not very dramatic. It is 100% a comedy and does a fantastic job at doing so. All the characters are lovable and the story line is interesting. There's always something funny going on.

4. "Friends"

Friends is the best of both worlds when it comes to television. Although considered a comedy, there are parts of romance and drama sprinkled throughout the series. It is a great show that can be watched over and over without an ounce of boredom. Each character is unique and loved dearly by fans.

5. "How I Met Your Mother"

Many say that How I Met Your Mother is similar to Friends, which is true. They are both comedies with a little drama and romance. They are both also about a group of young adults who are best friends, but somewhat different in personality. If you've already seen Friends, I definitely recommend this comedy.

6. "Friday Night Lights"

Friday Night Lights is a little bit like 90210, but throws in football to become a little more diverse. It's a great show for someone looking for a drama with a little comedy and a lot of romance. All different types of TV show lovers enjoy this show.

7. "The Office"

The Office is hands down one of the best comedies around. It is one of the most beloved shows on Netflix and is constantly being memed on Twitter and Instagram. The lines are memorable, the characters are lovable, and the theme song is so catchy!

8. "House of Cards"

House of Cards is the show for couples who love drama and politics. Kevin Spacey does a great job pulling this show together as the most popular Netflix original series. It is a show to watch, for sure!

9. "Weeds"

Even if you don't support marijuana use, this show is riveting. What isn't to like about a suburban mom selling weed to local housewives? It's exciting, hilarious, and dynamic throughout each season.

10. "Blue Mountain State"

Blue Mountain State is a very silly show. The jokes are innapropriate and the plot is flimsy, but its still hilarious. Watching this show will make you feel giggly and energized. It's a short series that is worth watching (especially if you're looking for a pick me up!).

11. "Parks And Recreation"

Parks and Rec is a lighthearted comedy with great characters and a sense of family. While watching you'll feel like you're right before Leslie Knopp as she fights for another park or more trees! It may sound silly, but it's truly a wonderful show.

12. "That 70's Show"

Everyone's seen at least one episode of That 70's Show, but not many have seen the episodes in order! The great thing about watching chronologically is that you see the characters grow and transform. Relationships change, friendships change, and sadly, some characters leave the show. It is so much more than a funny comedy when you watch the beloved characters transform.

13. "Freaks And Geeks"

If you're interested in seeing a young James Franco, Jason Segel, or Seth Rogan, you should definitely watch Freaks and Geeks. This comedy/drama from the 1990's is interesting and easy to watch. It's a great hit that should be watched before removed from Netflix.

14. "30 Rock"

30 Rock, similar to Parks and Rec, is a great comedy with many SNL actors and a great plot line for every episode. The friendship between Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey is one to definitely see. This is a great show for anyone to watch.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
