Okay, okay, call me dramatic, but does finishing a complete TV series not leave you with this feeling of closure, and sometimes, even leaves you in tears or with an epiphany-like change of heart? Maybe I'm just a film-fanatic, but finishing a TV show that I've come to adore always leaves me with a feeling of melancholy and self-change. TV Shows always teach me a valuable lesson that I come to refer back to many times during my life. WWBW Do? (What would Blair Waldorf do?) Jokes, jokes, but I actually am serious. I often find myself questioning if Zoey Johnson (Grown-Ish) would think my outfit's cute, or if I am ever going to, or already have, met the Ross to my Rachel (Friends.)
1. Friends
This is, without a doubt, one of televisions greatest masterpieces. Friends has taught me a valuable lesson like no other. Your life doesn't need to be luxurious, or perfect, or always planned out- you don't need to have your masters degree or live in a mansion in the countryside. If you're surrounded by the people that you love- well, that is all that you truly need. Life is about love and happiness- not materialistic things. Anyone can have money, but the lucky ones are those who have people that love them unconditionally.
2. Grey's Anatomy
Greys Anatomy is definitely a must. I'm pretty sure we've all went through our Grey's obsessed phase at least once, am I right? It teaches you a lot about being an adult, maintaining relationships, how to handle hard times, and what the lives of surgeons are really like.
3. The Office
There is beauty in simplicity. Happiness is what life is about. There is beauty even in the simplest things- like working at a paper-making company. There is beauty in the smallest things. All you need is love.4. Gossip Girl
If you love drama, action, and countless plot twists, then this show is for you.5. This Is Us
The real definition of a tear-jerker, but this show is one of the best to hit television. So relatable, so heart breaking, and so real.
6. Grown-Ish
This show is perfect for all teenagers, especially those who are super excited for college and want to get a taste of it early! Even if that isn't you, this show always gives me positive, happy vibes and puts me in a good mood.
7. The Carrie Diaries
The Carrie Diaries teaches us a lot about love, loss, and leaving. Sometimes, it's necessary to leave someone that you love in order to ensure your future success. Its tough, when two soulmates who are obviously perfect for each other, have to go in different paths for their careers. New York and LA. Paris and Rome. But, what's that saying, again? Oh yeah- if you love someone, let them go. If they come back to you, it's meant to be.
8. 13 Reasons Why
One of the most controversial shows, for sure. Despite the goriness and sadness that this show evoked, and despite the diverse worldwide opinions of it, some people thinking it should be banished and others excited for it's season two renewal, it is undeniable that this show called widespread light to be shed upon bullying, rape, sexual harassment, and suicide. The importance of speaking up was manifested through this shows plot. Sometimes, a person needs to hear an "I love you," or a "You're worth it," or a "I need you in my life."
9. KC Undercover
KC is everything I want to be! She's smart, nerdy, and beautiful all at the same time!
10. The Fosters
This show is so important because it brings awareness to unconditional love and equality. Everyone is perfect. You could make mistakes, do really terrible things, or even do a seemingly good thing and have it backfire on you, but in the end your family loves you unconditionally. Not only this, but it sheds so much light on modern equality. I love the fact that it shows a "perfect family" doesn't have to be a wife and a husband and a daughter and a son, and you know, a perfect golden retriever who comes when he's called and doesn't chew up every piece of underwear in the house. A perfect family can have two moms, two dads, two moms and a dad, or two dads and a mom. Irregardless, a perfect family simply means everyone is loved and happy.
11. Criminal Minds
12. Stranger Things
13. Degrassi
What other show is so relatable that it gets crazy amounts of viewers for 14 whole seasons? And- where did Drake get his start? The answer to both of these is Degrassi!
14. Freaks and Geeks
A literal representation of high school. This TV show teaches us that popularity isn't synonymous with happiness.
15. Glee
16. Full House
Family is forever!
17. Riverdale
18. Friday Night Lights
19. Parks and Recreation
20. Shameless
You don't have to have everything, but if you have people that love you and support you surrounding you, then that's all you really need. Things get rough sometimes, or weird, or uncomfortable, or crazy and intense- but in the end, everything really, truly is gonna be perfectly fine.
21. Jane The Virgin
22. The Secret Life of The American Teenager
This show may be a little bit older now, but it really makes you think twice about your decisions and their impacts.
