When Did It Become A Sin To Show Emotion?

I am different from everyone else and here is why I like to show emotion. Gasp! Yes, I cry, I laugh and everything in between.

We live in a society where it has become unacceptable to show emotion and we are expected to stay strong and hide our feelings especially when we are going through tough times.

I'm the girl who loves too much. I will risk my own happiness to save yours. I'm sorry if my emotions make you uncomfortable. I am a human being with real feelings, and I like to express them.

We are always told to suppress our negative emotions, do not tell anyone how you are truly feeling. Hide your pain behind your smile and laugh when you want to cry, because happiness is more beautiful than pain. But is fake happiness beautiful? How do you know if someone is faking their happiness? Some people are better at hiding their pain more than others.

Hiding our pain has gotten much easier these days with social media. We can show our best moments to the world and hide our bad ones.

I do not like to hide my emotions and do not like to lie to people when I am feeling down. If I am upset, I'm going to cry, when I'm happy, I'll smile and when I think something is funny, I'll laugh.

We always put on a fake face and let people think that we are always okay, and that is a lie. We are all human, we all have emotions, and we should be allowed to show them. We should not be afraid of making other people uncomfortable if we need to cry. It is normal to feel things. We have gotten so used to numbing our pain to the point that it has become unhealthy.

We turn to substances to avoid emotion and to get our minds off of what bothers us, which then turns to addiction. This is all because we feel like we cannot express our emotions to other people, so we shove them deep down and they ruin us.

You are only hurting yourself by avoiding your emotions and ignoring them.

We should learn to express our emotions in better, healthier ways and we will become happier for it. We will not have to feel these negative emotions for very long if we face them straight away.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
