There’s more to hot steamy water than just stripping you of the dirt on your body. Have you ever stopped to think about what taking a good shower really does?
Showers in thought are actually fairly strange. You stand under falling water (which you can do for free when it rains) and you either freeze yourself or scold yourself, while at the same time rubbing smelly chemicals all over your body. That’s strange. If you’re anything like me and you last more than fifteen minutes when rubbing chemicals on yourself, then your showers just turn into being wasteful (It’s okay), unless you make the most of the water falling all around.
In my freshman year of high school, immediately after my first major move I discovered the happiness that came in a rectangle or square box that provides you with being clean.
The shower is a place to unravel whatever mood you are feeling. There can be countless ways to go about showering. I sometimes prefer the dark with music, which at first sounds like seven forms of scary, but is actually quite soothing. It can be one of my most relaxing sessions in the shower. Other times when I feel alive with energy the lights stay on and the music goes up. Some might be a tad fearful dancing on the wet shower floor but it only makes it more exciting. It’s second best to giving your own underwater concert. I have yet to see the day where I fall.
Showers can be a place to relax, de-stress, catch up on sleep, get clean, hideaway and most definitely talk it out. Just like with everything in this life the possibilities are endless. A shower is whatever you make it.
Showers in a way can protect you. They are like a big, warm, wet, blanket. One that always give me a good ten minutes to sleep.
Showers also serve different purposes than what you might find at the tub. Tubs are nice if they are big and can hold you. But who wants a tub no one can fit in to. It is almost a tease with pleasure, so buy a tub that fits you.
A shower if you take them in the morning can have a large impact on the rest of your day and your mood that follows.
A good shower can leave you, not only smelling good, but feeling good.
A bad shower has the same effect.
I have had countless days where I haven’t felt much like myself based on the shower I just took. You need the shower to determine the rest of your day.
My freshman year of high school when I discovered the power of showers, I discovered the power of relaxation. By power I meant how high the water waste level is. I did it for stress and comfort. This method seemed to work. I even told my therapist how impactful it was to me and so he recommended it. It became a healthy habit and is probably what kept me sane for the majority of high school. Sometimes something simple can be more complex than we think. That to me is a good shower. So go find your way of showering and have a good time.
