Take a second and look at yourself in the mirror.
List off 10 things about yourself that you admire.
List off 10 things about yourself that others have complimented you on.
Sometimes we all need a little pick-me-up.
Have you ever had a moment in your life where you have felt as though you are not good enough for someone? Have you ever had a moment in your life where you have found yourself comparing yourself to others and envying what they may or may not have? I know I have.
I am writing to you all to tell you that you are all so much more special than what you believe yourself to be.
We go day by day constantly trying to be better, trying to improve ourselves, or trying to rid ourselves of our flaws. What we don't realize is that the things we find fault with within ourselves may be the things that someone else admires about us. We continuously think to ourselves that there is something we can do to be better when in reality, the best thing you can do is accept who you are and where you are in your life right now.
We all go through rough patches that may knock us down time and time again. The true measure of strength and self-worth is how you go about getting back up. You cannot let someone or something ruin your own beautiful self-image. Next, I need to say that if you do not have a beautiful self image, or view yourself as lesser than someone else, I want to say that you are wrong. You may not believe me, but this is so true.
You can find value within your life in so many different ways. All of your friends and family love you and would absolutely do anything for you. You need to know that you are worth it. If you ever think that the world is a hateful place, and that no one would care if you were here or not, think again.
Someone is out there believing that you are their whole entire world. Someone is out there rooting for you in everything you do. Someone is out there wishing you saw yourself as he or she saw you: unique and beautiful. Most of all, someone is out there praying and wishing that you realize your self-worth, that you realize you are loved, and that you realize you are so much more than your comparison to that guy or girl at your school or on a silly magazine.
You have the power to love yourself and make the most out of yourself. You have the power to work on the things you do not admire about yourself, and you have the power to enhance the qualities about yourself that others adore.
The bottom line is the following: if you do not love yourself, it makes it harder for the people around you to show you love. Without loving yourself, you will have a hard time coming to accept the compliments and praise you receive from others.
So, pull out that bit of confidence within you, whether it is a lot or a little, and show the world that you are worth it, and that you know it.
Once you find that self-confidence and self-worth, think to yourself how you can live everyday to the fullest.
I will end on this note, if you happened to pass away today, would you be satisfied with the life you have been living? If the answer is no, then that is your cue to get up and make your life something you are proud of, something you would be happy to leave behind, and something you will cherish everyday of your life with a smile on your face because you have the power to do so.
Go show yourself a little love.
