50 Random Thank Yous To My Wonderful Parents

I am one of the most fortunate children to be able to have parents that are such a blessing to my life. Sometimes, it's just the right thing to do to show them some extra gratitude.

To my mom & dad, look at this whenever you need to remember my everlasting appreciation and love for you. This is for you.

Thank you for...

1. Raising me to be a strong, independent woman.

2. Being there for me when no one else was.

3. Teaching me what real love is.

4. Being a prime example of a healthy marriage.

5. Raising me to have respect for myself and others.

35. Welcoming people that have meant a lot to me into your life, even if they ended up hurting me in the end.

36. On that same token, teaching me forgiveness.

37. Unconditionally loving me for all that I am, imperfections and all.

38. And from that, leading me through the process of truly loving myself.

39. Calming my fears when they were at their most tumultuous.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
