There are a lot of good people in this world who don't ever get the recognition that they deserve. Now it's my duty to give them that honor. If the world won't give you a shout out (s/o) I will!

I want to give a shout out to all those HEROES who don't wear a cape.

S/o to the teachers who love their jobs and really want to see kids do great.

S/o to all the mentors that try and change lives.

S/o to the people who pick up the trash in the streets and don't complain.

S/o to the people who opens the door for the person behind them.

S/o to the people who actually stop when pedestrians are crossing the street.

S/o to the people who say "bless you" after someone sneezes.

S/o to the people who says "excuse me" when they're trying to get past people.

S/o to the boys who take a girl's chair out and pushes it back in as she sits down.

S/o to the people who ask you if you're ok after they saw that you were upset.

S/o to the people who risk their lives every day to make our city safe.

S/o to the people who smile because they know it could change someone's life.

S/o to the people who will ask if you need help even if they don't know you.

S/o to the people who really want to see America be great.

S/o to the people who are honest and have big HEARTS.

S/o to the people who have integrity when no one's looking.

S/o to the parents who are raising their children to be respectable citizens.

S/o to the people who will sacrifice their everything just to see someone succeed.

S/o to all the people who survived cancer or any terminal illness.

S/o to all the people who have changed a life.

S/o to all the people who care.

Everyone has a hero inside of them. You don't have to win awards or wear a badge to be considered hero material. There's a hero in every human being on this earth, you just have to give yourself a shout out!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
