Who is Gary Johnson? Johnson is a third-party, Libertarian presidential nominee running for the 2016 presidential election. Previously, he was the governor of New Mexico from 1995 - 2003. Johnson then can be seen as a Libertarian nominee in the 2012 election where he attracted about 1% of the popular vote (While a small percentage, numbers like this can change the outcome of an election). Now, he is attracting almost ten-times as much support due to the dislike of both Clinton and Trump. Due to his beliefs, Gary Johnson has been able to make enemies in both of the primary parties.
If you are liberal, you probably think things like minimum wage is too low, fracking is wrong, and that the Affordable Care Act is an important piece of legislature.
Well, you'll be happy to know that Gary Johnson is opposed to those three ideas. He believes that the minimum wage is correct and believes that "nobody works for minimum wage anyway." In relations to fracking, while he knows the destruction and poor efficiency of the act, he believes we should increase the fracking operations. In 2011, he swore to do everything he could to repeal the health care plan and this is still his platform today. in addition those examples, Johnson believes that there should be little to no restrictions on gun purchases and ownership.
If you are a conservative, you believe in things such as solving the immigration problem and Syrian refugees, you support the transgender platform idea, and that you are pro-life.
Lucky for you, Johnson doesn't help you there either. Concerning immigrants, he believes that the country needs to make it as easy as possible for people to come into the country and work. Refugees similarly, should be taken in. "We need to take our share."
Transgender bathrooms have been a new way to make buildings acceptable to all orientations. Johnson stated that he would have vetoed the idea and forced trans to use bathrooms of their "sex at birth." For pro-life platforms, he is not with you. He said, "I leave abortion to the woman ... I absolutely support a woman's right to choose." On top of all of those, the former CEO of Cannabis Sativa Inc. wants to legalize all drugs.
"Would the world be a better place if all drugs were legalized tomorrow? Absolutely." -Gary Johnson, 2012.
And regardless of political affiliation, in an interview on MSNBC, Gary Johnson was asked to name a world leader he respected. Surprisingly (or not), he could not name anyone, until his running mate William Weld offered up Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico.
Even though you may not like Trump or Clinton, don't throw your vote to a third party candidate. Regardless, one of the two will win. Vote for the candidate that has an actual chance of winning versus a spoiler role.
