I know what you may be thinking… Utah? Are you serious? Do you think anything you are going to say in this article will convince me to spend my hard earned vacation money on a trip to UTAH?
Well, yes, I am completely serious but if we are being honest part of this article is selfish. I would love some entertainment here in the beehive state. Honestly anyone to tool around and show the sights to sounds like a good time.
However, despite my selfish motive, there are some pretty great things to see in Utah.
To begin with we have some pretty beautiful nature going on up in here. Yes we have trees and rocks and mountains but we have them on steroids. From the top of the highest peak at Snowbird Resort you are standing at 11 thousand feet. The world can seem pretty insignificant from up there, including your reasons not to visit Utah. We also have some pretty great rocks. Not only do we have the infamous Arches National Park but we also have lesser known formations like Goblin Valley and many slot canyons that will make you question which planet you are actually on.
If you are not so much into nature that is okay, Utah also has some pretty interesting history well preserved by the LDS church. You can be sent back in time at their “This is the place national monument” where cabins that were built by the first settlers still stand, ready for the second coming… just kidding. This monument is especially fun in the fall where it is transformed into an epic haunted attraction filled with fog machines, missionaries in ghoulish costumes and occasionally the ghosts from the past, non to happy to be aroused by such shenanigans. If you are looking for something non-Mormon related Utah is home to the Navaho reservation, which is the largest Indian reservation in southeastern Utah. Needless to say, there is plenty to see here.
Utah is also a great place to visit in the winter with our world-famous ski resorts. You would be surprised how many times I have been asked if it snows in Utah. The answer is yes, and thanks to the Great Salt Lake our lake effect snow is fluffy and perfect for racing down the mountain on.
All in all my intentions may be sketchy at best but I promise you if you visit Utah you will see something that you will never forget.
