Coffee, Gods second greatest gift to man kind (next to Jesus of course). I don't think I can ever thank coffee enough for everything its done for me or for how amazing it is. Here are few things we should thank coffee for.

1. Being our first warm hug in the morning

Nothing is worst than having to wake up to an alarm and get out of your warm and cozy bed onto the cold floor, but nothing is better than coming from the cold early morning and grabbing a nice warm cup of coffee. Like they say in the commercial "The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup".

2. For changing with our mood

Coffee comes in so many different flavors, temperatures and sizes. So if your in the mood for a basic cup you can have one, you can have an iced coffee, or even just a shot of expresso.

3. Its our biggest support system

Coffee has brought us through are best days and more importantly coffee has completely turned our most terrible days. From our late nights studying, writing articles, finals week, rough days at work, Mondays and everything in between. I can honestly say that there has been many days that coffee has completely changed my mood or gave me the energy to carry on.

4. Easy date

How many movies have you watched where the guy asks the girl out for coffee? A lot. Its simple because you take your order really quickly and then you don't have a reason to stick around if you don't want to.

5. Being available

Coffe is available anytime day or night. It addresses our morning time need, our lunch time struggle and our night time craving.

Those are just a few of the amazing things coffee does for us. I was looking on Pinterest the other day and found a few quotes I thought were perfect for an article like this and I wanted to share them with you.

"I like coffee because it gives me the illusion that I might be awake." Lewis Black

"To me, the smell of fresh-made coffee is one of the greatest inventions." Hugh Jackman

"I love coffee. It's one of my favorite things in the world, and I love tasting different coffees." Max Schneider
"I was taken by the power that savoring a simple cup of coffee can have to connect people and create community." Howard Schultz
"Once you wake up and smell the coffee, it's hard to go back to sleep." Fran Drescher

"If it wasn't for the coffee, I'd have no identifiable personality whatsoever." David Letterman

Don't take your coffee for granted, its seen you at your worst and is still there for you. So next time you drink a great cup of coffee make sure you thank God for the amazing life savior he blessed you with.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
