In times of trouble, it is effortless to question God’s motives, His plan and why He felt the need to put you in a certain situation. We often feel that He is forgetting about us, and the damage that’s being done to our lives in that moment. When we feel darkness and emptiness, we just need somewhere to turn. We need some form of validation.

What is often forgotten is the fact that there’s been a manual written for us on how to get through tough times, how to appreciate laughter, and how to receive immediate validation on our worth, purpose, and how much we are loved. We forget that He spelled it out for us.

Below are 10 reminders from this “manual” pertaining to how much you are loved, and why you should keep going, no matter how difficult the situation is that you’re struggling through.

1. Exodus 14:14.

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only be still.”

2. Mark 5:36.

“Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

3. Joshua 1:9.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

4. Mark 11:24.

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

5. Romans 1:17.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

6. Matthew 17:20.

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

7. Romans 8:28.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

8. Hebrews 11:1.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”

9. 2 Corinthians 5:7.

For we live by faith, not by sight."

10. 1 Corinthians 16:13.

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”

The tenth verse is bolded for a reason. The four commands that it holds are essential to remember and to follow through with. Always be on guard to stand against Satan's temptations, stand firm in your faithfulness, always show courage (even if this courage emerges from times of weakness) and always be strong.

In conclusion, it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel at times, but reminding yourself that instructions on how to do just that are at our fingertips is so incredibly comforting.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
