Shonda Rhimes is a legend and we need to appreciate her while she's still here.
If you don't know who she is, you should so keep reading. Shonda Rhimes is the showrunner of multiple television hits including Grey's Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder and Scandal. She is the creator, the executive producer and the mastermind behind them all.
Grey's Anatomy is currently on its 15th season and the people still cannot get enough of it or rather they cannot get enough of Shonda Rhimes. While Grey's Anatomy is certainly her longest show the rest are right behind with 6 or 7 seasons!
Each show is so remarkably different and yet the world seems to adore everything she creates. Ranging from medical marvels to political scandals to murder to a new princess in Genovia. That's right people Shonda Rhimes also was apart of the creation of The Princess Diaries sequel. So what is it? What makes Shonda Rhimes so amazing at what she does?
In my opinion, Rhimes makes her entertainment for everyone. It is diverse, relatable and therefore lovable. She has characters of every race, every age, every kind of background, so everyone has the chance to be the main star of the show. It is also all content of today's day and age. The characters may be superstars, but they all have real human struggles.
While we all love Rhimes we have to appreciate her while she's here because there are only so many times we will experience story making as well as we do with her behind the scenes. With her major shows Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and others coming to an end we must keep our eyes out for the next life-changing stories she will produce.
With that being said, Shonda Rhimes deal with Netflix to only create Netflix Originals for all her future work may come with the loss of our favorite characters, but imagine all of what's to come. On the walls of her Shondaland production, it literally states "a place where everyone is the main character of their own story." What better way to explain why Rhimes work is forever in our hearts. Therefore, let us continue with her and say goodbye ABC and hello Netflix.
