Your #1 BFF (forever & always)

Through all the ups and downs, highs and lows and absolutely any and everything your sister will always be your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is the only one who's seen you at your worst and best but loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. You're always learning something from her and you know she's always got your back. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were the only child but every other day she is your best friend.

It’s been about three weeks since my younger sister left for college and I can’t help but miss her, my best friend. Although we’re used to being apart since the last two years when I left for college, goodbyes never get easy. Growing up we’ve done almost everything together and no wonder she is more of a BFF and less of a sister. I’ve been trying to get myself together and write an article for a while now but the overwhelming feeling of getting my little sister set for college to finally saying goodbye and missing her there after has been constantly getting in the way. It is then that I decided why not translate these thoughts and emotions into an odyssey article and do some sister PDA. So here’s why your sister will always be the one you turn to in good times and bad and why she is your #1 best friend:

1.Distance only means not being able to wrestle in the day & cuddle at night

Distance has no impact on your relationship and as soon as you’re together you’re back to your old ways of laughing on and fighting over the silliest things! It’s like no time has passed at all.

2.No judgment here

You can always be your weirdest self around her because she may laugh at you but will never judge you. It’s why your sister is entrusted with the ugliest snapchats, lamest dance moves and dumbest decisions.

3.Your happiness is her happiness

Your sister is the only person in the world who is genuinely happy in your happiness. There is no jealousy among sisters and she is always proud of your achievements while cheering you on enthusiastically.

4. It’s all about code words and inside jokes with her

No one can make you laugh like your sister and you wouldn’t make it through boring family events if it wasn’t for her. You’ve never spent a holiday without her and it’s no surprise that she’s a part of all your favorite memories!

5. You grew up loving and obsessing over the same things

You went through the Hilary Duff obsession and “We’re basically Mary Kate and Ashley” phase together. Lets be honest, there’s no one else you’d rather jam to old ABBA, Hannah Montana and High School Musical songs with. (aaah, I miss my sister now)

6.She’s the real deal

It’s basically her job to edit, approve and like every Instagram picture and Facebook post.

7.She is your cheerleader, always right there when you need her

She knows what you’re thinking even before you say it. You can lie to the world but you can’t slip anything past your sister. She’ll listen to every detail of your problems because she actually cares and her advice is exactly what you need to hear.

8.Her closet is your closet

It doesn't matter if you have the same style or are even the same size. What’s hers is yours.

9.She will always be brutally honest with you

Regardless of whether or not it will hurt your feelings, your sister is never afraid to be honest with you. She is your reality check and the only one who keeps you grounded.

10. She is your A1 since Day 1

She can't fix all your problems, but she can promise that you'll never face them alone. She knows you to your very core, all of your dreams and aspirations, as well as your secrets and your fears. Your sister will be there with you to the very end. Friends come and go, but sisters are for life.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
