Before Amanda Bynes went a little loco (okay let's face it - she had a total breakdown), one of the highlights of her acting career is most definitely "She's The Man." This 2006 romantic-comedy enticed so many different varieties of fans. Soccer girls, comedy fans, romance addicts, and anyone who likes to follow a funny, round-a-bout relationship triangle. Here's a list of reasons why "She's The Man" will always play on MTV, and why we will always feel the need to watch.
1. Channing Tatum
2. The girl power is UNREAL.
Viola Hastings lays it on thick on this movie. She breaks up with her boyfriend because he doesn't think she's as good at soccer as a guy, proceeds to be ballsy enough to try out for the opposing team, as a guy, and basically slays everything she tries. She sticks up for herself in everything she does; a true role model for girls.
3. The mess of relationships is enough to keep anyone hooked.
"Duke wants Olivia, who likes Sebastian, who is really Viola, whose brother is dating Monique, so she hates Olivia, who's with Duke, to make Sebastian jealous, who is really Viola, who's crushing on Duke, who thinks she's a guy..." It's enough to keep everyone following it like a back and forth tennis match. It's timeless. And perfect.
4. Eunice is secretly your spirit animal.
This chick is batshit crazy. And we love it. She's the nerd obsessed with the jock, and she totally rocks the part. Even though she might be on the creepier side, we are all rooting for her at the end of the movie. Even though that kiss is pretty nasty.
5. We can appreciate the awkward moments.
Between the ladylike gowns Viola's mother forces her into and her brother's diva girlfriend who thinks Viola is nothing more than a tomboy, we girls can all sympathize going to fancy events we aren't excited about. We can also sympathize with squeezing into a dress we don't feel like wearing.
6. And last but not least, Monique will always be known for this great one-liner.
Nothing is better than this epic conversation. Also along the lines of the girl power genre this movie is known for, Monique slays with this comeback. Even though we're supposed to hate her, we love her for this. PREACH, GIRL, PREACH.
We'll always root for Amanda Bynes when it comes to her role in "She's The Man." Because quite honestly, she rocks it. And we'll probably always love this moment.
