Going to elementary, middle and high school with your best friend is always great. Having that person to lean on, to talk to, or just relying on that person is a great feeling. Going to different colleges and splitting apart is the hardest part. Driving to each other's houses or getting food together is what I'm used to, but not when I'm thousands of miles away.
My best friend promised me that even though we are not close to each other, we will FaceTime everyday. We will still gossip just like we normally do, and most importantly, I cannot stuff my face around people that do not know me well enough like she does. My best friend isn't even my best friend, she's like a sister to me. She completes my sentences, and she knows what I'm going to say before I even say it. She knows what to order for me at restaurant, and she even knows the types of guys I like. When I'm upset, she's upset. It's almost like we are twins, and I have no idea what I would do without her.
Her family treats me like I'm a part of their family. Believe it or not, I'm closer to her aunt then my own. I could without a doubt say I wouldn't be the person I am today without my best friend. She's my person, partner in crime, my saturday night date, and lastly, my sister. She would always give me her valid opinion, and even when I tell her something negative she always knows how to make light of the situation. Putting a smile on my face is not hard to do but as soon as my best friend walks in the room, I smile right away. I love spending time with her, and there is absolutely nothing I wouldn't do for her.
We think the same– whether it's deciding what to eat (which is what we mostly do the majority of the time), going shopping, or even hanging out. We both look at each other and just laugh. I've been through some difficult challenges in my life, and she has always stuck by my side, even when some people didn't. Her parents are two of the most dedicated, kindest, and funniest people I ever met. I couldn't thank them enough for all they have done for me. I stayed at her house for three weeks. Her parents cooked for me, I had my own room, and they took me to school. I don't know any kind of parents that would let me stay at their house for weeks and did not mind at all.
I spend holidays with my best friend as well, and I love feeling welcomed into such a great family. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about my best friend's family. Her dad taught me how to ride a bike, and as I was riding the bike, I knocked over their mailbox. The best part is they weren't even angry. My best friend's mom was hysterically laughing the whole time. I felt awful and embarrassed, but everyone else was laughing. So, I did not feel too bad afterwards.
I just wanted to say thank you for being my best friend and never giving up on me. I know I can be difficult at times, but that makes us even closer. I love you to taco bell and back.
