Shane Dawson's 8 Part Series About Jake Paul Deserves A Chance

Just because you don't like Jake Paul, don't automatically assume what it is going to be about

So, if you have been living under a rock for the past ten years, let me fill you in. Shane Dawson is one of YouTube's Biggest, and oldest content creators. He has been a YouTube presence since around 2008, and a good majority of people my age grew up watching his many earlier videos. He's well known for his many different "characters", his Vlogs, and his music.

Lately, he's been doing these series where he tries to get behind or really understand some of YouTube's most controversial creators. He's done a series about Jeffrey Star who is one of YouTube's most well-known beauty gurus and one about the most failed attempt at getting back at Vidcon, Tanacon. Both series explore what really went on or what is going on behind the scenes of the videos, and news reports. So, Shane has become more of a journalist/detective type channel over the years.

I personally have always loved Shane's Content, and I was a bit reluctant when he came out saying that his next eight-part series was going to be about one of the most talked about YouTubers who most ten-year old's idolize, Jake Paul.

He has had a ton of backlash where people are saying that they refuse to watch the series because of Jake being in it, and at the beginning of the video Shane shows a clip of a voicemail Jake left him basically saying that it was going to get rough because of how many people genuinely dislike him (Jake). I myself am no Jake Paul fan, but I am excited to see how Shane gets his point across and how this series is really going to end.

I have been waiting to watch the first part for what feels like forever and when I watched it, it ended up making me want more. The interview Shane has with a YouTuber who goes by the YouTube handle of iNabber, goes into some basic questions that Shane really wants to get some answers on, and just get the "why" out of why Jake does what he does. Shane ends up even asking himself if Jake is doing the whole thing just for views. So, unlike the other series, Shane isn't going in this trying to give Jake the benefit of the doubt.

Granted Jake wouldn't be okay with this series if he didn't want this to air, so at least both parties are understanding of each other, but it still isn't going to be painting Jake Paul as a saint like everyone thinks Shane will do. It's obvious by the first episode that Shane is genuinely curious and even nervous to get to do this whole series.

Also, you can tell by the way the trailer and first episode really speak for themselves, and a big portion of it is because his editor and cameraman, Andrew, is super good at editing everything together to make things work. Regardless, Shane is going to be bringing a masterpiece of a series and it will be what he refers to as a "Roller-coaster". So, I guess let's buckle up, sit back and enjoy.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
